Taxes

“Taxes are never voluntary – they are always paid under threat of punishment. If you fail to pay what government says you owe, you can be fined, have your wages garnished, assets seized, even go to prison. Voting for more government spending inevitably leads to higher taxes to pay for it – now, or in the future. As President, I will work tirelessly to slash federal spending, make government much, much smaller, and let you keep what you earn.”

Taxes are never voluntary – they are always paid under threat of punishment. If you fail to pay what government says you owe, you can be fined, have your wages garnished, assets seized, even go to prison.

Americans are taxed at every turn, and politicians have made the income tax system so complicated that only those who can afford personal accountants and tax lawyers can effectively navigate the code. People live in fear of the IRS, which has the power to probe every detail of our financial lives to decide how much we will be forced to pay.

Voting for more government spending inevitably leads to higher taxes to pay for it – now, or in the future.

Government spending is wasteful, inefficient, prone to fraud, and often harmful to those that politicians claim to be helping. In contrast, money left in the hands of regular Americans creates two to three times as many jobs as does the same money taken and spent by government.

This shouldn’t surprise anyone. No one spends money as responsibly as those who worked for it. Individuals know what is best for themselves, their families, and their community – certainly better than out-of-touch bureaucrats and politicians in Washington.

It’s time to move money out of the government sector and back to the people who earned it. Politicians and bureaucrats don’t know what you need — you do.

From our founding until 1916, our economy and nation thrived without an income tax or the IRS. As president, I will work tirelessly to slash federal spending, make government much, much smaller, and eliminate the federal income tax, so you can keep what you earn.
